I chatted with a friend this morning who is based in Montana but is currently in Philippines to be with her family who were survivors of the recent super-typhoon. She will be there as her family will deal with the rehabilitation of their home and livelihood. I asked her how things are over there and she responded, “Oh, you can’t believe how excruciatingly hot it is over here even if it’s already December!” And then she added, “But I can’t imagine how cold it is over there as well!”
Yep, she hit it home! It is indeed super cold here in Central Wisconsin! Temperatures that are single digits started the other day and it will stay this way in the next couple of weeks. How fun, right? NOT. AT. ALL!!!
The bitterly cold days are definitely dreadful! Even with the jackets, boots, scarves, gloves, hats, etc., still, it is never the same when it is in the 60′s or 70′s! We didn’t sign up for this below zero temperatures but this is part of the package of living here in Stevens Point so we have to deal with this as we fairly did in the past four years.
I am just thankful that I am homeschooling this year. Because I do, this kiddo doesn’t need to go out every morning and brave the freezing days being out and away from home. She gets to do her school works comfortably anywhere here at home and she would exclaim how lucky she is! Yes you are, darling!
So what to do with the bitterly cold days ahead? Nothing else really but just deal with it! In my case, just continue turning the heater on (deal with the huge gas bill later, hehe!), and if there is not need to go out, just stay inside and enjoy the beauty of the whites outside!
