We found one of the most beautiful leaves out in the church ground during the weekend when Autumn was at its peak and although it was raining and the ground was wet, still, we managed to picked two leaves which we thought were the most beautiful.
When a friend from church saw us picking the leaf, she had asked if we were interested to preserve it. I asked how and she asked her husband who is into plants and nature and she came back relaying her husband’s tips on how.
Get a wax paper. Press the leaves with the wax paper. Let it be pressed with big and heavy books. Let it stay pressed/on such condition for a month or longer.
Triz and I dared to follow the steps and we can’t wait to see the result of this experiment.
I shall surely make a follow-up of this post when we can take the preserved leaves out in the coming days or weeks.
This is our first time to do this and I am glad that we did. It will be a souvenir for Autumn 2013 which we surely enjoy. Not all places here on earth get to experience what it is like to be surrounded with the beautiful Fall foliage and we will surely cherish these years that we have lived in the place with this amazing Fall scenery.
