Teaching children to manage their time

In an age where “time is money” and spare amounts of it is almost a luxury, teaching children the values of time management effectively can be a key element to their later success in life. Research has shown that the time spent studying has to be balanced by an appropriate amount of time spent on recreational activities. Furthermore, people’s concentration span is limited. Since effective learning requires a highly concentrated state of mind, learning intervals should always be accompanied by breaks in between. This is certainly the case for children, whose concentration span is generally much shorter than adults. Parents can help their children to separate their studying and playing time effectively, provided that they themselves act as examples to follow.

Time Management: The right watch can help
It is important for parents to effectively mentor their children in teaching them to manage their time properly, so that they become diligent students and at the same time still enjoy enough spare time for their recreational activities. This means parents need to keep track of their children’s activities. This can be done alongside other activities, for example by using a watch with multiple time-keeping functionalities. This requires parents to think in separate time intervals, for example by making sure that their kids study for one hour before they are allowed to play afterwards.

If the monitoring your children’s study habits is combined with other household activities such as cooking, it helps to own a watch that combines multiple but simultaneous time-keeping features. Watches with at least two separate time-keeping devices can prove useful for busy parents keeping track of their kids’ activities and performing other tasks simultaneously. This practical feature of parallel time-keeping is combined with a unique and classy style in many high range watches like Marurice Lacroix for instance. After all, parents are the best role-models if they want their children to learn to use their time effectively and learning not to procrastinate.
