Why you should get your aspiring guitarist the ChordBuddy Jr
I stated this post’s title positively as this review will be solely based from my daughter’s personal experience of learning to play the guitar. You see, it is not unknown to many of this blog’s followers that my 7-year-old daughter is into music. She has started to take piano lessons and has recently expressed her eagerness to learn to play the guitar so late last year, we got her her very first real string instrument. Just barely a couple weeks after starting to learn the G, C, D, and A chords on the guitar, she was already able to play a song, but… using notes only.
And why notes only? Because being a 7-years-old, her new classical guitar is not the perfect size for her. It is a bit smaller than the regular-size guitar but it is still too big for her short arms and fingers. Nevertheless, we commended her for her learning ability. I thought she did a pretty good job even though I am literally and obviously biased in my claim. LOL.
A month after we got her her first guitar, we bought her her second one. This time, a 3/4 size. We thought it was what will fit her best because I and the husband were never aware of a real guitar with the size of those that are only ‘toys’. With the second instrument though, she still wasn’t comfortable to play a song using the chords. Thus, when she played “Joy to the World” on her 3/4 sized guitar, she was still using the notes.
She felt frustrated sometimes that there was no smaller size of a guitar that she can use as she continues with the guitar learning process but lo and behold, The ChordBuddy Jr is here to make a difference!

I thought it is such a great device because even a guitar player wannabe like me is encouraged to learn to play the instrument!
After over a week since my daughter has used The ChordBuddy Jr, she has gotten way better compared to using the 3/4 sized or the regular sized classical guitar that we bought her.
